About
The story behind OmmiQ
Updated: March 2026
Why
I wanted to move away from US Big Tech. Not out of spite, but because I believe in supporting local European businesses and keeping my data closer to home. So I went looking for a simple to-do app - something straightforward that helps me plan my day without being packed with features I'd never use.
I tried hundreds of apps. I failed miserably. Every single one was either too bloated, too complicated, or running on US infrastructure. None of them felt right.
So I built my own. OmmiQ is the app I always wanted: a powerful day planner with a solid scheduling system, hosted entirely in Europe, with no tracking and no unnecessary clutter.
I also didn't want to charge for it. The core app is free and always will be, without limitations. To keep things going, I'm working on optional add-ons - small extras that you probably won't need, but might enjoy having. They'll be available as one-time purchases. No subscriptions, no recurring charges. You buy it once, it's yours forever.
What
OmmiQ is a day planner. You create tasks, organize them into categories, set due dates and reminders, track recurring schedules, and check things off when they're done.
Already using another to-do app? You can import your tasks from Todoist, TickTick, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, Asana, Trello, or OmniFocus - so you don't have to start from scratch. For the full picture of everything the app can do, head over to the Features page.
Who

My name is Dennis. I'm an Engineering Manager originally from Tallinn, Estonia, now living in Berlin, Germany. OmmiQ is my hobby project - something I build and maintain in my free time because I genuinely enjoy it.
When I'm not working on OmmiQ, you'll find me reading, cooking, traveling, watching movies, cycling, running, and - naturally - organizing my life.
